The Bulletin of Economic Geology uses an online submission system. All manuscripts must be submitted electronically through our submission portal.

Manuscript Formatting

General Requirements

  • All papers must be written in English and spell-checked. Ensure appropriate grammar that appeals to a wide readership.
  • A short running title (not exceeding 75 letters and spaces) must be provided in addition to the full title.
  • Manuscript should be typed double-spaced using Times New Roman, on A4 paper size.
  • Use the same size text and avoid using dark backgrounds.
  • Use the International System of Units (m, kg, s).
  • Figures must be numbered with captions that completely describe the contents. Ensure all symbols and abbreviations are fully explained.
  • All tables should be numbered, titled, and provided in MS Excel and Word format.
  • Maximum file size: 10 MB
  • Accepted formats: DOC, DOCX

Manuscript Structure

  1. Abstract — Not exceeding 250 words. Should give the purpose, procedure, significant results, and conclusions of the research.
  2. Introduction — Should contain only essential background information and relevant references. The objectives and relevance of the work must be clearly stated.
  3. Materials and Methods — New methods and modifications of established ones should be described in detail. For established methods, refer to relevant publications.
  4. Results — Should be concise. Diagrams and photographs are taken together as figures and numbered in Arabic numerals. Tables (numbered in Arabic numerals) and figures with their captions should be submitted separately from the text.
  5. Discussion — Avoid direct repetition of methodology. Relate your work to published works. References cited as: Rahaman (2018), Dada et al. (2019) for more than two authors.
  6. References — Listed alphabetically according to the Harvard system.

Units and Abbreviations

Only the International System of Units (SI) is allowed and must be indicated clearly on figures and tables. Abbreviations should be written in full at first mention. Use only signs and symbols in common use.

Peer Review Process

All submissions undergo rigorous double-blind peer review. The process typically takes 30 days from submission to initial decision.

Suggested Reviewers

Authors must suggest 4 potential reviewers who:

  • Are experts in the relevant field
  • Have no conflicts of interest
  • Are not co-authors or collaborators
  • Are from different institutions than the authors

Publication Ethics

Plagiarism Policy

All submissions are checked for plagiarism. Manuscripts with similarity scores above 20% will be rejected.

Authorship

  • All authors must have made substantial contributions to the work
  • All authors must approve the final manuscript
  • Changes to authorship after submission require written consent from all authors

Conflicts of Interest

Authors must disclose any financial or personal relationships that could influence the work.

Data Availability

Authors should be prepared to share research data upon reasonable request, unless legally restricted or ethically inappropriate.
